¿Por qué convertir PNG a JPG?

PNG es un formato sin pérdida que almacena cada píxel a la perfección, lo que lo hace ideal para logotipos, capturas de pantalla y gráficos con texto. Sin embargo, para fotografías e imágenes complejas, los archivos PNG pueden ser de 3 a 5 veces más grandes que el JPEG equivalente. Convertir fotos PNG a JPG reduce drásticamente el tamaño del archivo con una pérdida mínima de calidad visible.

Importante: la transparencia se vuelve blanca

JPEG no admite transparencia (canal alfa). Si tu PNG tiene un fondo transparente, se rellenará con un fondo blanco sólido en el JPG resultante. Si necesitas conservar la transparencia, usa PNG a WebP → en su lugar, que admite transparencia alfa.
