JPEG and PNG are embedded directly, so the original compressed data is carried into the PDF untouched. WebP is not a format the PDF spec supports, so those images are decoded by your browser and re-encoded as PNG first — lossless from the already-decoded pixels, though the resulting file is larger than the WebP was. If size matters more than fidelity, convert to JPG first with the WebP to JPG tool.
